Our Church Outreach Programs serve as a bridge between the underprivileged and churches with time, talent, resources and a desire to touch others with Christian ministry. Here are some of the ways your church group can get involved to make a difference right here in our community.

Get Involved

Back To School - We are outfitting over 1,200 kids from local school districts to go back to school with all the supplies they need. Donate supplies or hold a drive if you'd like to join us.

Food - Our daily food supply is critically low as we continue to meet the needs of the slumping economy. Please consider holding a drive for us today. We can provide you with posters, boxes and collection pick-up for large donations.

Water - Phoenix Rescue Mission is part of the City of Phoenix Heat Relief Network and our Hope Coach distributes bottled water, lightweight clothing, hats and sunscreen to homeless men, women and children every day. We need your help.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle Your Used Uniforms
Help us reduce a family's uniform expenses for the 2010 school year by allowing us to reuse your child's uniform shorts, pants and tops in our Uniform Recycle Program. As this school year ends, consider bringing your donations to our Family Outreach Center at 3532 W. Thomas Rd, STE 9.

Diaper Drive
Organize a drive to collect diapers, wipes and formula for families in need at your site.

Hope Tote Toiletry Packs
Assemble travel-sized toiletries, including: shampoo, lotion, lip balm, deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste, disposable razor, bar soap or body wash, and personalized greeting card or Christian literature (tract) in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag. These packs will be given out to homeless people living on the streets by our Hope Coach.

C.A.R.E. Elderly Food Box Ministry
Our new elderly food box ministry, affectionately called C.A.R.E. (Compassion And Reaching-out to the Elderly), is shaped by the belief that by serving those in need we are directly serving Christ. Our goal is to deliver nutritious food to this vulnerable population well as connect seniors affected by poverty, failing health, disability, loneliness and substandard living conditions with existing community resources.

We are currently accepting application from seniors, who are home-bound or disabled and in need of assistance. Applicants must be 55 years of age or older and disabled (mentally and/or physically) or unable to leave their house and have a monthly income of less than $1,400. Additionally, a note from a doctor or case worker stating the disability or circumstances is required. Once approved, the senior is eligible to receive a box on a monthly basis. It is our goal to have the same volunteers visit the senior each month to foster an affable relationship.

We are also soliciting for volunteers to deliver food and spend time with each C.A.R.E. program participant in their homes. We will be holding classes on a monthly basis to provide wellness check training, details on safe food box delivery and connecting volunteers with program participants.

For more information about the program and eligibility requirements or to register as a volunteer, please contact Elizabeth Aguilar, C.A.R.E program administrator, at (602) 272-4581 or by email at eaguilar@phoenixrescuemission.org.

Come Tour the Mission
Phoenix Rescue Mission is an oasis not only for those who are thirsty and hungry but also for those who are hurting and in need of the Bread of Life. There are many different ways that the Mission reaches out to those in need. We are not the little soup kitchen of days gone by.

We would love to share with your church, youth group or small group how you can get involved and help us spread the love of God to those who are less fortunate. If you would like to visit the Mission or have someone come and speak to your congregation; please contact me for an appointment.
